During media day Friday, much of Brandon Johns Jr.’s emphasis when talking about his growth as a player was on his mental growth and the cognitive side of preparing for the season.
He talked sparsely about his development physically.
That’s because Johns, like his teammates and coaches, knows that when it comes to actually playing basketball, doing his role, playing how the team needs him to play, there’s not much to talk about. He has already shown everything that’s needed to be said.
“That Brandon that played in the Big Ten tournament as well as in the NCAA Tournament when Isaiah Livers went down,” Juwan Howard said. “Yes, we’re going to need that Brandon this year.”
