2021-22 Season

Game 9: Michigan at Nebraska Preview

For the second time in a week, Michigan is on the road. The Wolverines face Nebraska (7:00 p.m., ESPN2) for their first Big Ten tilt of the 2021-22 season. The Cornhuskers have one of the more underrated home-court advantages in the Big Ten, but Fred Hoiberg still hasn’t been able to capitalize with a winning season.

The Huskers feel a lot like Hoiberg’s recent teams. There’s some promising talent in the backcourt and an offensive strategy that makes sense, but the results haven’t followed. Nebraska lost its opener to Western Illinois and is just 5-4 on the season,  coming off of back-to-back losses at NC State (in 4 overtimes) and at Indiana (68-55).

For Michigan, the trip to Lincoln isn’t dissimilar from last year’s Christmas Day game at Nebraska. The Wolverines need to establish themselves in the Big Ten with an early win and rebuild some momentum after a rocky start.
