When Hunter Dickinson announced his decision to return to Michigan for his junior season, he did so with one aspiration in mind, according to associate head coach Phil Martelli.
Dickinson wants to win — not one, but “multiple championships,” Martelli told the Michigan Insider.
In order to succeed in that pursuit, Dickinson will have to vault his own play into another echelon. That growth is already well underway, with the offseason already five weeks in.
“At this moment in time, it’s beautiful that Hunter and (Juwan) are formulating this plan,” Martelli said. “What’s next? Well, there’s no secret. He has to become a better athlete. So what’s Hunter doing right now? Most guys are at home. He’s here with (strength and conditioning coach Jon Sanderson).
“… It’s about athletic abilities, which will increase his ability to cover the ball screen, which everybody has to do in today’s game, college or professional.”
