Five takeaways from Michigan’s season opener

Michigan opened the year with a win and covered the spread on Monday night in a comfortable but never outwardly dominant victory over Purdue Fort Wayne. The Wolverines took control of the game early with a 20-0 run, but allowed the Mastodons to hang around and cut the lead to 12 points midway through the second half.
