Five takeaways from Michigan’s win over Minnesota

Michigan knocked off Minnesota on Sunday afternoon to move to 5-3 in Big Ten play, but it wasn’t a perfect afternoon of basketball. The Wolverines never got in gear offensively and couldn’t pull away from the last-place Golden Gophers.

Sitting on the bench during the second half, he wore a boot to stabilize the injury.

“I feel sorry for the young man because he hates missing basketball,” Michigan coach Juwan Howard said of his son. “He’s in love with the game of basketball and he wants to help his teammates on both ends of the floor. … That’s a part of the game of basketball. You can’t predict it when it ever happens. You wish it never happens to you and your team.”
