Michigan led wire-to-wire as it knocked off Ohio State on Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor with one of its best overall performances of the season. The Wolverines controlled the game from the inside out and rode Hunter Dickinson’s 26 points and 11 rebounds to the comfortable victory, outscoring the Buckeyes 30-22 in the paint.
It was a comprehensive home win on the heels of an impressive road win at Northwestern on Thursday. It was the requisite effort to keep the season moving forward for another week for a team that is out of time to figure things out.
Was it a matter of facing the right team — Ohio State has now dropped nine of ten — at the right place, or is this Wolverine team prepared to make a February run toward the postseason? Today’s win kept that dream alive, but back-to-back wins aren’t enough for a team that hasn’t won three straight games since the first week of the regular season.
