Why Caleb Love and Michigan make sense together

Caleb Love is headed to Michigan as a rollercoaster offseason continues. The Wolverines lost one of the biggest names in the sport to the transfer portal, and now they’re adding one of the biggest names from the portal.

This is what I wrote a week ago when Hunter Dickinson entered the portal:

The good news is that it’s possible to upgrade your roster in a week in modern college basketball. That doesn’t mean it is easy.

And now here we are. Michigan has transformed its roster in a week, but we have six or seven months to wait until we find out if the moves worked out. Since season’s end, the Wolverines lost Jett Howard and Kobe Bufkin to the NBA with Isaiah Barnes and Hunter Dickinson headed to the transfer portal. They’ve replaced that quartet with Love, Nimari Burnett, and Seton Hall forward Tray Jackson.

Here’s a closer look at the latest shift and why Caleb Love’s addition to the Michigan lineup might be the right fit for all parties.
