Game 13: McNeese State at Michigan Recap

It’s hard to know rock bottom until you’re there, but sometimes, you start to see it coming.

Michigan lost to McNeese State on Friday night, 87-76, in a game that wasn’t that close. The Cowboys dominated the Wolverines 42-14 in the paint, won the turnover battle 15-4, and led for 35 of 40 minutes. They played harder, were better prepared, and dominated the game on the road.

That happened on a Friday night pay-per-view Big Ten Plus stream featuring radio commentary and a Jumbotron video feed. There were a total of two reporters in attendance, and one was a student.

It was the worst performance of the year for Michigan, which fell to 6-7 as rumors swirled that even worse news could be coming soon. It felt like a tree falling in the forest with no one around, but with 18 Big Ten games left to play, 17 of which are against teams ranked higher than McNeese State, the reality is that there’s still a long way to forge ahead in the woods.
