Michigan heads to West Lafayette tonight (9:00 p.m., Peacock) to face Purdue for the most difficult on-paper matchup on the schedule. The Wolverines will be without their point guard, who remains suspended for road games, and no team has come close to threatening Purdue on its home floor this season.
The Boilermakers are 17-2 despite playing the most challenging schedule in the country, per KenPom, with wins over Arizona, Alabama, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Marquette, and Illinois. They are still susceptible to conference road upsets (at Northwestern and Nebraska), but it is almost impossible to see a path to a road victory for a Michigan squad playing without its leading scorer and only proven ballhandler.
