Reed averaged 9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his second season in Ann Arbor, starting 31 games for the Wolverines. He shot 51.9% from the floor and 58.6% from the free-throw line. His first year as a started was up-and-down as he struggled with turnovers and didn’t quite live up to the lofty defensive expectations that he set off the bench during his freshman year.
Reed is the third Michigan player to hit the portal this offseason, joining Dug McDaniel and George Washington III.
Michigan’s roster is expected to make a total reboot after finishing 8-24 last season and firing Juwan Howard.
