UM Hoops will profile many of the candidates being discussed for the job over the coming days. Each story will share thoughts on the coaching candidate, covering everything from their personality to their style of play and attempting to paint a picture of how they would fit in Ann Arbor.
Our first profile takes a look at South Florida coach Amir Abdur-Rahim.
Amir Abdur-Rahim’s career has been on a rocket ship trajectory since he landed his first head coaching gig at Kennesaw State in 2019. He took that program to the NCAA Tournament in four years before landing the South Florida job last offseason. In just one year at USF, he took the Bulls to a conference title.
Now, he’s one of the hottest coaching candidates on the carousel once again and has been linked to multiple high-profile openings, including Michigan’s.
