Three-star guard Christian Anderson Jr. decommits from Michigan

Two and a half years after verbally committing to Michigan, Christian Anderson Jr. is decommitting from Michigan.

Anderson pledged his commitment to Juwan Howard’s program in 2021 when he was an unknown young guard. He’s climbed the recruiting rankings over the last few years and impressed with his remarkable shooting ability. He’s coming off of an excellent year at Oak Hill, where he averaged 20 points per game.

Anderson’s decommitment means that Michigan’s 2024 class has been whittled down to Durral Brooks, Mr. Basketball in the state of Michigan. Four-star forward Khani Rooths decommitted after Howard was fired but before May was hired.

May was announced on Tuesday and said his first priority was rebuilding the Michigan roster, emphasizing that discussions would be had with all current players and current commitments to ensure there was a fit in both directions. May will have to leverage the transfer portal aggressively in the coming days and weeks to fill out the 2024-25 roster.

Oh well. I’m embracing Dusty’s system and I won’t necessarily lose sleep over losing a small PG.

Plenty of kids out there and I want ones that buy into what Dusty is building
