A closer look at how Florida Atlantic’s transfers would potentially fit at Michigan

After a week of waiting, Florida Atlantic’s key rotation pieces hit the portal in stages last week. Vlad Goldin, Nick Boyd, and Giancarlo Rosado entered the portal on Monday, with Johnell Davis entering on Tuesday and Alijah Martin hitting the portal over the weekend.

New FAU head coach John Jakus had asked his new players to give him a few days to make his case, and they respected his wishes but eventually opted to hit the portal. Goldin and Davis also declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining eligibility.

The five stars from FAU — all of whom project to be graduate transfers — immediately become some of the most notable transfer portal targets on the market for new Michigan head coach Dusty May. May’s 2020 recruiting class of Davis, Martin, Boyd, and Rosado proved to be the foundation of his program in Boca Raton. Now, he can add another chapter with some of those players in Ann Arbor.

Here’s a collection of thoughts on how Florida Atlantic’s portal players would fit in Ann Arbor, scouting notes, what they do well, who might come, and what comes next.
