Former Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton and Georgia assistant Akeem Miskdeen have also been reported to be accepting assistant coaching jobs at Michigan. Several Florida Atlantic assistants and staffers are also expected in Ann Arbor in roles to be determined.
Joyner was a point guard at UC Santa Barbara; he’s spent the last seven years on staff at Saint Mary’s and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2022. He was linked to several head coaching openings on the West Coast this offseason.
Joyner was known as a star recruiter for the Gaels, helping to reel in players like Aidan Mahaney, Jordan Ross, Mikey Lewis and Zion Sensley.
