Three-star guard Lorenzo Cason commits to Michigan

Dusty May and his staff received a high school commitment today from three-star guard Lorenzo “LJ” Cason. Joe Tipton broke the news.

Cason was a former Florida Atlantic commitment who was released from his letter of intent after May took the Michigan job. Cason took visits to Florida and Michigan before committing to the Wolverines.

Cason is a 6-foot-3 point guard from Lakeland Victory Christian who quickly emerged as one of the top guards in Florida this season. Cason averaged 24.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game in his senior season.

He joins Durral Brooks and Justin Pippen in Michigan’s incoming 2024 class. Cason is the seventh commitment to Michigan since Dusty May was hired, along with Justin Pippen, Rubin Jones, Tre Donaldson, Danny Wolf, Roddy Gayle Jr. and Sam Walters.

Here’s a full breakdown of the 6-foot-3 guard, an assessment of his game, and how he fits in Ann Arbor.
