Michigan returns to action tonight (6:00 p.m., BTN) against Miami (OH) in a tight turnaround from Friday’s win over TCU.
The RedHawks head to Ann Arbor as a “campus matchup” in the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Michigan will play in the Beach Division of the event next week against Virginia Tech (and South Carolina or Xavier). Miami joins Jacksonville, Siena, and Mercer in the Palms Division, which will play a four-team event concurrently in Fort Myers.
Former Xavier head coach Travis Steele is in his third year at Miami (OH) and searching for his first winning season. Miami is off to a 2-1 start with wins over Appalachian State and Maryland Eastern Shore and a 13-point loss to Wright State (who lost at Toledo, 86-77).
Miami is projected to finish in the middle of the MAC this year after finishing .500 in the league last year. Steele has made notable talent upgrades this season, including down transfers with high-major chops.
