Ten statistics that showcase Michigan’s impressive defensive start

Michigan’s defense has been the surprise story to start the 2024-25 season. The Wolverines, who finished 182nd in defensive efficiency last season and haven’t finished better than 47th since 2020-21, are currently ranked 10th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency through the season’s first month. The defense also checks in at 11th on BartTorvik with preseason priors removed.
