2024-25 Season

‘The only thing he cares about is winning’: Tschetter’s point-per-minute night lifts Michigan

If there’s one part of Will Tschetter’s game that will never waver, it’s his energy.

When he played limited minutes as a redshirt freshman, he constantly brought a burst in his brief appearances on the court. Despite a lost season for Michigan last year, he kept bringing the intensity as his role expanded. This season, as one of two scholarship holdovers under a new coach and in a new role once again, his energy has only grown.

He’s transformed it into leadership, too.

“I want to say three months ago, or two months ago, I don’t remember which game … when we were watching film the next day, and (Wolverines coach Dusty May) said that he spoke with the opposing coaching staff and they were going to watch a few things on film,” junior forward Danny Wolf said. “One of the things was just all Will Tschetter clips because the only thing he cares about is winning.

“I think that in today’s day and age, you don’t have a lot of that. You can just go down the line and just to have that is so valuable. He’s a leader in more ways than that.”
