Thoughts on Michigan’s late-season struggles, and a path to a March resurgence

Michigan tips off the Big Ten Tournament in the last game of the night on Friday against either Purdue or USC. We’ll dive into that matchup on Friday, but the extra time off before the conference tournament provides a great chance to zoom out and look at the Wolverines.

Michigan enters the postseason on a three-game losing streak, dropping four of its last six after a 20-5 start, and is looking for a turnaround. Here are some thoughts on what’s not working, what was working, and where the Wolverines could turn things around.

This is essentially a notebook dump of the stats, thoughts, theories, and observations that I haven’t been able to put on paper over the last few weeks—ball screen metrics, finishing metrics, shot charts, and everything in between.
