Q2 Lack of fast-break points
You guys had like only like 4 points, I think, fast break-wise tonight, and you guys were getting to a lot of sets. Is that something that, you know, the coaching team kind of told you like before coming into this game that you guys were going to do a lot of half court stuff?
No, I don't think so. I just think the zone, it really slowed our tempo down. And, you know, I think we wanted to play a high-tempo game, but tonight just wasn't the night for that. And, you know, I think we made shots when we had to, so that was the biggest thing.
Q11 Winning Big Ten title as freshman
I apologize for coming up late and asking a question I'm sure you've already been asked, but to win a Big Ten title your freshman year and with this group, what goes through your mind knowing what you just accomplished?
You know, it's really amazing. I mean, because it's definitely what we work towards, you know, the whole time, you know, we got here in the summer and practiced. So that was definitely a goal coming into the Big Ten season. You know, when you accomplish something like that, it's really exciting. But, you know, we definitely have to get on to the next game because we have Illinois.
Q13 Pride in winning the championship
Dusty May talks a lot about not putting, like, pride into your, like, overall, like, ranking, you know, like, not being— he didn't really care that you guys were, like, number one. But does he let you guys kind of take pride in the fact that, like, you did, like, win something, like, real tonight? Like, you guys achieved something this season. You weren't just, you know, some number in an AP poll.
Yeah, I mean, I mean, it's definitely— I mean, we earned being number one in the country for, you know, however long we had it. But, you know, obviously winning the championship, that doesn't happen a lot, and that's only happened 4 times here. So, I mean, just be able to do that for Michigan and with this talented team and the camaraderie we have. So, I think it was just really good to win a championship.
