Q1 Trey McKenney's quick 10 points

Trey McKenney had 10 quick points as a freshman coming into a tournament like this. What, what does it say about him?

He's so much more advanced mentally and physically than a typical freshman. But it was also on both sides of the basketball plate defensively. Sometimes we deal with older guys that are good in those moments and, and because couldn't take him out because of the work he was doing on their guards. They played with great discipline, great energy, effort, and he was a big part of this win.

Q3 Morez Johnson's impact on both ends

How about the guys' impact today? He really impacted both ends.

He did. His rim protection late in the first half, uncharacteristically, they got a couple of layups that they don't normally get. I think once the guys felt that he had the rim protected in the second half, they were able to push up into the ball a little bit more, uh, stay aggressive and get Thornton inside that 12 to 15-foot range. Do you get the sense with your team that they'd like another crack at Wisconsin?

I think so. How do you prepare How do you prepare a team for potentially back-to-back-to-back games? Well, these are the games where it's not going to be about a scouting report. It's going to be about who can play, adjust on the fly, and take the process what's going on in front of them.

Because there's going to be such a limited scout because of— we don't even know who we're playing now and playing 20 hours or whatever the case. So, but, you know, luckily we have really good players. They're smart and we're together. So we're just going to be trying to find solutions throughout and hopefully have a couple minor advantages going into it.

Q4 Winning without Morez Johnson's offense

Morez Johnson about that depth, but when the Big Ten Player of the Year is not maybe having his best game offensively, still find a way to beat another tournament team, a rival.

Yeah, Yaxel Lendeborg had 6 assists, uh, he made the 2 big 3-pointers in the game. And there rarely do you see a superstar when it's not going well for them not try to shoot their way out of it. And he just continues to play, he trusts his teammates, and once again he just proves that it's not about him. He wants the team to win, and he's shown the same behavior time and time again.
