Q1 Urgency in final senior season
Roddy Gayle, you're a senior, you got 1, 2, or 3 more games left. Are you seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and trying to step up because of that, I guess?
Man, I try, I try not to think about it just because like I have so much fun fun and on college basketball. I wish I had more years, but unfortunately I don't. Just being able to live every moment with my teammates, just experience everything. I'm really happy to be here, part of this program.
Obviously it was hard coming from Michigan, I mean Ohio State, but just embraced everything, every moment. I don't have any regrets. I'm just excited to be a part of the staff, be a part of the program, and then extend this team legacy for a lifetime. What does he look like as a roommate?
When I first met him, his English was terrible. He was a really goofy guy, really fun to be around. I think his personality is just something that you don't really see a lot, especially from guys like that. So, you know, Felix became one of my closest friends in college.
So it's just that bond that we share for 2 years, like we were roommates and, you know, ate together, slept together. Like, it was like, that's just what, that's just what it was. And I think that bond would never go away. I know after the season we long before we knew we were going to play each other and be there, we wanted to kind of go on a trip together, just kind of bring everybody back together and experience that.
Q3 Aday Mara's personality and smile
Speaking of you're foxy guys, is that kind of how you guys view Aday Mara? He talks about how he's always got a smile, always laughing.
Yeah, absolutely. He's never really serious until you like really piss him off. But he has an extreme interesting character. I feel like he's really goofy, but I think that's just his personality, and it works for him.
I feel like it allowed us to really bond with him knowing that he wasn't serious all the time. Like, it's really hard to be friends with somebody that's that serious. So his ability to be able to bring people together and bond, especially like me kind of learning his cultures and things that he liked to do, especially when he's at home, I think was different for me because at first it was hard for me to like approach him because I really knew anything about him in the summertime. So his personality is just something that you will look for it in Frank.
Q6 Trey McKenney's potential next year
And then what, what kind of player do you think Trey could be next year?
Like, if he's given the keys and it's— and we already see what he can do in this role, like, how talented is I think Trey is extremely talented.
His ability to be a sponge in whatever circumstance that he's in and just learn and be able to grow in every scenario. I think with a really good summer, I think that you will see him become a really good playmaker. I think that's just the next step to his game. I think he's done a tremendous job as far as his body, his physique.
I think I would like to see him dunk the ball a little more personally, but beggars can't be choosers. So I know that he knows he has room to grow, and it's just the maturity level for him. I think, you know, we look at him as a teenager, but that's what he is. And over the course of the season, he's really been able to grow in my eyes.
And I kind of look at him as a dad, you know, he's still, you know, a little kid.
