Q1 Off-court chemistry on the court

Like, I mean, I talked to Elliot Cadeau and he said you got— when you got 5 guys on the court that like to pass the ball, it makes things easier. The chemistry off the court looks like it's incredible. It's translating to on the court. How has this been this year with all of that, the chemistry off the court going, you know, translating to on the court?

I think off the court immediately, like, um, we kind of like— we just get along with each other. Like, there's no cliques. Like, usually when you got a team, like, you got a group of guys who kind of separate from everybody else, or you get like packs, um, in a big group. But I don't really feel that with this a team.

Everybody really enjoys being together. Everybody enjoys just doing things, different activities with each other. So I think it makes it easier for the guys on the court to be happy for each other's success. Nobody's really envious of each other's accolades or whatever they're doing on the court.

Like, we just kind of really appreciate the things that we do. And I think it all started, um, just, um, in our huddles after practice. We have words of affirmation. It's just like, you know, looking to the guy to the right or left of you and just like telling them what you're grateful for.

And people bring that every day in practice, especially. It's really good to hear, um, the looks of different people.

Q4 Bond with Lendeborg and McKenney

Quite the— I mean, you and Yaxel Lendeborg, your relationship, we've talked about it before. Trey McKenney has been in that group. And, you know, he's two seniors and then you got a freshman under your wing. How did that come about and what's that relationship like? How does it work?

Most definitely. I think first of all, like, it started like— I think all three of us are naturally just like kind of quiet, shy guys. So it all started with Coach Mike. We started working out together in a group and that just kind of led to us building a bond and then started hanging out outside of basketball.

Outside of the gym, and then that just kind of built into a bond like we just can't break. I feel like for the last time, these guys are my brothers. Obviously, if they need anything, I'll be like, I'll do anything for these guys. So just the bond that we've been able to make.

I know Trey's a little sad because he has an intern next year without his guys. So that's my next question. Really, really happy for him and his development that he's had over the years. I mean, every step of the way, like, obviously it's been a fun couple of years, but you know, it'll be pretty hard.

Q11 First impressions of Lendeborg

Can you tell me about like your first impressions with him? Obviously you guys become great friends since.

He was super quiet, uh, I think with the, um, Ruth Chris. He was like super— it was him, his mom. Um, he was super quiet, barely talked. Yeah.

But then, uh, like as soon as we got like to the house and he was like kind of away from, you know, like coaches and feeling the pressure of being able to like obviously commit here and come here, I think that he really opened up in his, um, like his personality, his character. I think we went to, uh, Coach— I think we went to— no, we didn't go to Coach's house, we went to Charlie's house.

They got like a group, like a house of some of our players, and we were able to just kind of chill around us, being able to open up and relax. And that's when his personality became out. That's when I knew that obviously we'd be able to connect and find some common ground.
