2026-27 Season

Freshman forward Quinn Costello staying at Michigan

Incoming freshman forward Quinn Costello will stay at Michigan for 2026-27, he told Joe Tipton.

Costello is a 6-foot-10 forward who was one of the breakout prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s an elite shooter with intriguing size, and played his way onto the McDonald’s All-American team. He’s ranked 32nd in the class, per 247 Sports Composite.

Costello is the 13th player to announce his intent to return to Michigan following Dusty May’s departure, joining Elliot Cadeau, Trey McKenney, JP Estrella, Moustapha Thiam, Brandon McCoy and many others.

LJ Cason is the only player who has not announced his intentions for 2026-27. Cason is rehabbing an ACL injury he suffered at Illinois in February, but could play this season if healthy given the new five-in-five ruling. He originally followed Dusty May from Florida Atlantic to Michigan as a high school signee.

Shazam!! There you have it. Cason is definitely staying as well. So the whole team is back. Now we can focus on the season and have high expectations for this team.

Boynton is pulling off quite a coup so far. Just need LJ to complete the collection.

As important as it is to retain Beezy, Costello is a fascinating talent. It will be interesting to see what his PT looks like.
