Michigan guard LJ Cason plans to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Joe Tipton reported today.
Cason was the only Wolverine who hadn’t announced his intentions after Dusty May’s departure, while 13 other Michigan players had previously announced their plans to return and play for Mike Boynton Jr.
Cason will be able to enter the portal this week, following Friday’s announcement that Boynton was taking over as Michigan’s head coach full-time.
The 6-foot-2 guard followed Dusty May from Florida Atlantic — where he was committed as a high school prospect — to Ann Arbor. He was one of the breakout players on the roster as a sophomore, averaging 8.4 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game until he tore his ACL against Illinois in February.
Cason underwent surgery after the season and is expected to miss a large chunk of the 2026-27, but with five-in-five regulations passing was expected to play at some point.

Bummer. One of my favorites.
Will Florida take a flyer on him?
