Q3 Team 3-point shooting trend

Andrew, what would you guys say about the 3-point shooting for this team in general? It hasn't— there's been a long streak of maybe not high percentages from 3.

Trey McKenneyPlayer

Yeah, I mean, I feel like we have really good shooters on this team. Good shots. We're going to keep shooting good shots and keep generating good shots for our shooters. We're going to hit them at the end of the day, so I'm not worried.

Q5 Biggest area of growth

Right here, all the way in the back. Just straight ahead. I want to ask you, just because you've got the most experience on the team, just 2 games in, but looking back over the preseason and what you've seen so far, where's the biggest area of growth that you think for the team is right now that you think you're pretty confident that you can reach and kind of materialize in the coming weeks?

Roddy Gayle

I think steps we need to do much better in is just learning how to face adversity, especially when the crowd gets into it. I feel like Today was definitely a road game for us. Even at a neutral site, the majority of the fans are UConn. I mean, disagree with me if you want, but just when the adversity comes to us, we got to do a much better job of learning to rally with each other and find ways out of that.

And I think it starts with our leaders— me, Elliot, J.P., Moustapha. I think we got to do a much better job of Getting the team together and trying to find our way out of it together, not trying to separate, going our different ways and trying to do everything by ourselves, but understand that we're a much better team when we rely on our teammates and believe in them.

Q7 Quinn Costello playing at home

You want to start?

Roddy Gayle

Yeah, I mean, Quinn, um, Quinn is one of the most ready freshmen I think I've ever seen, obviously besides Trey last year. But, um, seeing him being able to play on the court, um, you know, his hometown, I know how that feels for a kid. Obviously last year we were able to play, um, in Buffalo last year, so I know how it feels, especially when you got so many people, um, coming to watch you.

You know how much pressure that is, but I feel like he, he was able to, um, at least stay present. I think that he, he was— he played great minutes for us. Um, shots weren't falling, but I mean, it's only a due time. I think Quinn is probably one of the better shooters in the country.

Um, and I think once his shots start to click, I think he can just add so much more value to our team.
