Game 17: Northwestern at Michigan Recap

Northwestern’s strategy was sound on paper: Force two sub-30% 3-point shooters to attempt 15 3-pointers.

The plan made sense and it already worked in Evanston when Zavier Simpson went 0-of-5 from 3-point range and was benched late.

Playing without senior leader Vic Law, Chris Collins ran it back on Sunday night. His pick-your-poison approach left Simpson and Jon Teske open for threes while attempting to neutralize Ignas Brazdeikis, Charles Matthews and Jordan Poole.

Instead, the ball went in. Simpson and Teske combined to make 8-of-15 3-pointers and led Michigan to an 80-60 blowout victory.
