Michigan earns No. 2 seed, will face Montana in Des Moines

Michigan is a No. 2 in the NCAA Tournament and will play Montana in the first round in Des Moines, Iowa.

If Michigan advances, it would play the winner of No. 7 Nevada and No. 10 Florida. The Wolverines will be fighting to advance to the West regional semifinals and finals which will be played in Anaheim, California.

The top seeds in the West regional are No. 1 Gonzaga, No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Texas Tech and No. 4 Florida State.

Beilein has coached in the NCAA Tournament 13 times and this is his ninth tournament appearance in 12 seasons at Michigan. Beilein is 19-11 in NCAA Tournament games, taking Michigan to the National Championship game in 2013 and 2018. He is 18-8 in tournament play during his tenure at Michigan.

    KenPom has both Louisville and Wofford rated higher than Nevada.

    If we are being honest, I haven’t seen Nevada this season, but I have watched a decent amount of Florida. I’d prefer to not play Florida. They play at a super slow tempo and play great defense. Could be a low possession, low scoring game that lends itself to an upset.
