With two of its leading scorers gone to the NBA Draft and centerpiece Hunter Dickinson with one foot out the door by entering the transfer portal, it’s safe to say that 2023-24 should be a rebuilding year for Michigan men’s basketball.
But for Alabama transfer guard Nimari Burnett, he’s more than happy to get his hands dirty.
“The choice to go to Michigan is knowing Juwan Howard, knowing the roster structure there, and knowing the type of culture that he has there,” Burnett told The Next Round. “Just kind of being a part of something — I wouldn’t call it a rebuild — but something that is on the come up.”
Out of the 15-20 teams Burnett estimated recruited his services out of the portal, he chose Michigan for the chance to make an impact.
