Incoming transfer big man Moustapha Thiam plans to stay at Michigan for 2026-27, as first reported by Jon Rothstein.
Thiam is a 7-foot-2 big man who averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 28.7 minutes per game last season at Cincinnati. He was viewed as one of the top big men in the transfer portal and should be crucial for anchoring the Wolverine defense.
He’s the third player to announce his intention to return to Michigan to play for interim head coach Mike Boynton Jr. after Dusty May’s departure for the Dallas Mavericks, joining starting guards Elliot Cadeau and Trey McKenney.

I’m still pretty believe it when I see it bc there are plenty of rosters out there that could use another piece but in the very least it’s getting easier to believe we can keep 4 of the top 5.
