Michigan is headed back to New York City next season.
According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the Wolverines will face Penn State at Madison Square Garden on January 30th, 2016 as part of ‘Big Ten Day’, a day-night doubleheader featuring a hockey and basketball matchup between both schools.
The games will be announced on Tuesday afternoon along with an announcement that the Big Ten Tournament will be played at Madison Square Garden in 2018. The 2018 conference tournament will also be played a week earlier to account for other tournaments in the area.

Michigan basketball has played in New York City or Brooklyn in each of the last last three seasons — the 2014 Legends Classic at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the 2013 Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational, the 2012 Brooklyn Winter Hoops Festival, and the 2012 NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden. Michigan is 5-1 in those games.
