2017-18 All-Big Ten teams announced; Moritz Wagner earns second team honors

The 2017-18 All-Big Ten teams were announced on Monday evening and Michigan junior big man Moritz Wagner was named to the conference’s second team.

The 2017-18 All-Big Ten teams were announced on Monday evening and Michigan junior big man Moritz Wagner was named to the conference’s second team by both the coaches and media.

Wagner averaged 13.9 points and 7.1 rebound per game in Big Ten play after deciding to return to Michigan for his junior season.

Michigan senior Duncan Robinson was named the conference’s Sixth Man of the Year while Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman earned honorable mention.

Ohio State’s Keita Bates-Diop was named Big Ten Player of the Year. He was joined on the All-Big Ten First Team by Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, Purdue’s Carsen Edwards,  Penn State’s Tony Carr, Nebraska’s James Palmer Jr. (coaches) and Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ (media).

Wagner shared All-Big Ten Second Team honors with Juwan Morgan, Jae’Sean Tate, Vince Edwards, Ethan Happ, Jordan Murphy and James Palmer Jr.

Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann was selected as the conference’s Coach of the Year.
