Michigan opened the season with a comfortable 63-44 win over Norfolk State, but it was certainly not pretty.
The Wolverines led wire-to-wire yet never settled into a groove offensively. Michigan was led by Jon Teske (13), Ignas Brazdeikis (12) and Charles Matthews (10) and all three double-digit scorers shot worse than 50% from the field.
It was a performance that set the initial baseline for Michigan’s season: A team that is terrific on defense, but is going to have to work very hard to score points.
Here’s our full breakdown of Michigan’s season-opening win.
