Eli Brooks gave Michigan a career-best 25 points in Iowa City, but it wasn’t enough for the Wolverines to escape with a road victory. They had no answer for Luka Garza (again) or a barrage of free throws and timely Hawkeye 3-pointers.
The Friday night tilt was uniquely watchable as games between two elite offenses with below-average defenses tend to be, but it was another close but not enough effort for Michigan without Isaiah Livers.
Despite the result, the back-and-forth game left plenty to be dissected including Juwan Howard’s offensive chops, his rotations and his group’s recurring issues with foul trouble.
