2020-21 Season

Game 8: Michigan at Maryland Recap

It’s always about the next test, but Michigan continues to level up effectively as its schedule becomes more difficult. The Wolverines are still perfect after an 11-point win at Maryland and seem to play a bit better with each game.

Hunter Dickinson led the way (again) with 26 points on 11 shot attempts and 11 rebounds. Mark Turgeon referred to Dickinson as a “man possessed” and a 26-and-11 night should feel like a career performance, but even in Dickinson’s eighth career game, it felt closer to expectations. Dickinson has been an unstoppable offensive force, and there’s no real reason to think that will change anytime soon.

He had plenty of help as the Wolverines ran up 84 points on 67 possessions (1.25 PPP) in arguably their best offensive performance of the season. Franz Wagner chipped in with 19 points and four assists, and Mike Smith added 16 points (on 7 shots) and six assists to lead the way on the perimeter.
