Michigan is off to a 2-0 start, but the competition will level up this week. The Wolverines handled Buffalo’s transition attack and Prairie View A&M’s aggressive defense, but games against Seton Hall, UNLV, and either Arizona or Wichita State will provide a much more reasonable benchmark of where this team stands.
Michigan has been practicing for a month and has played two games, a scrimmage and an exhibition, but the bright lights of high-major competition separate out the noise. Juwan Howard and his staff won’t know what they are working with until they’ve seen the product on the floor against elite competition.
