Michigan enters this weekend awaiting its NCAA Tournament fate, and like many of us, will be keeping an eye on the results from around the country as conference tournaments wrap up. There are a total of 30 games left to play before Selection Sunday, and below, I’ll tell you which ones to follow and who to root for. But first, let’s recap where Michigan stands as of Saturday morning:
Where Michigan Stands
Despite the loss to Indiana last Thursday afternoon, U-M is still in pretty good shape to make the NCAA Tournament’s field of 68. As of the moment I’m writing this sentence (11:45am on Saturday morning), Michigan appears in 133 of the available 142 projections on the Bracket Matrix. As a result of the early Big Ten Tournament loss, Michigan has slipped back onto the 11 seed line to me and to the Bracket Matrix. However, according to many bracketologists (myself included), the Wolverines are still, at least for now, safe from having to play in the First Four round in Dayton next Tuesday or Wednesday night.
It seems as though there’s a 2-3 team buffer between Michigan and the “last 4 in” cutline. Buckle up and get ready for the final sprint.
