After a long weekend of waiting, Michigan learned its fate on Sunday night. The Wolverines are heading to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 11 seed without a pitstop in Dayton and will face No. 6 seed Colorado State.
The Rams are one of the best offensive teams in the country and got off to a hot start this season. They won their first 10 games including impressive victories over Creighton (by 14), Saint Mary’s (by 16), and Mississippi State en route to a top-2 ranking nationally. Then COVID-19 struck and threw a wrench in CSU’s season. The Rams had to cancel games against Alabama and Tulsa and didn’t play a game between Dec. 11 and Jan. 4.
The offensive numbers regressed a bit post-COVID in Mountain West play, but Colorado State only lost to three teams all season, finished 25-5 for the year and led the league in offensive efficiency.
Here’s our first look at Colorado State and how the Rams match up with Michigan on Thursday (12:15 p.m, CBS).
