Diabate averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds per game as a freshman at Michigan. The former five-star recruit is testing the NBA Draft process while retaining his eligibility. He has until ten days after the combine (June 1st) to decide to return to school or stay in the draft.
The NBA Draft Combine features 60 players and runs from May 18th through 20th. Combine participants are invited based on voting by NBA front offices. The NBA will also host a G-League Elite Camp on May 16th and 17th that features the next 40 players who weren’t invited to the combine. The top performers at the G-League Elite Camp are usually invited to stay for the combine.

So I guess we await to see if Houstan got a combine invite. Maybe a chance he comes back if he doesn’t get one?

Congrats to him. I think he’ll do well there. I do think bringing Houstan back is more important for our ceiling.

Congrats. Not impossible for him to still return but a lot less likely I think. Best of luck either way.

I’ll be really curious to see how he tests. Feels like he should blow some of the mobility stuff out of the water among bigs but I’m not sure what to make of the vertical leap. If he tests really well, his rim protection issues have more to do with timing and feel.
