Michigan responded to a can’t-lose spot with its best offensive performance of the Big Ten season on Wednesday night. The Wolverines matched a season-high with 14 made 3-pointers in the 93-72 victory, opening up a 24-point lead midway through the first half.
The best stretches of the night featured some of the best basketball the Wolverines have played all season. The middle half of the game featured a pair of maddening Nebraska runs and defensive effort that harkened back to someof the lowest moments of the season. A confident team clicking on all cylinders offensively but one that’s still running from some of the skeletons in its closer.
It was a feel-good night at the right time in the season for a Wolverine team that is making the most of a schedule-induced off ramp. They look like a team putting it all together with three consecutive wins, and impressive efforts. Now they need to make it count on Saturday with a marquee matchup with Indiana looming.
