Four-star power forward Papa Kante won’t be coming to Michigan. The big man requested his release from his NLI today, as first reported by Joe Tipton.

Kante’s decision gives Michigan one scholarship open on the 2023-24 roster as things currently stand.
Without Kante, Michigan only has one signee in the 2023 class in shooting guard George Washington III. The Wolverines also have transfer commits from Caleb Love, Tray Jackson and Nimari Burnett.

it was only a matter of time. This is a good thing in my opinion. Wish him the best of luck where ever he ends up. Tremendous upside.

Well that stinks. Wish him well wherever he ends up

Wording is interesting. No mention of potential academic conflict. Curious what the real story is.

I liked Papa. Really impressive defensive player. But was unlikely two of Tarris or Papa was long for the program
