Michigan hosts Ohio State on Monday afternoon (noon, FOX) for a Martin Luther King Day matinee. The Wolverines have dropped five straight and eight of the last ten, while the Buckeyes have dropped their previous two, haven’t won a true road game in over a year, and have shown a troubling tendency to unravel in the second half of competitive games.
It’s still been a bounce-back year for the Buckeyes, who finished 5-15 in the Big Ten last season, and they have one of the more talented rosters in the league. Ohio State enters Monday with a 12-4 (2-3 Big Ten) record and is ranked 38th according to KenPom.
Despite the solid record and the improved quality of play, there’s not a ton of substance on the Buckeye resume yet. Ohio State has a marquee win over Alabama but is 0-4 in its other Q1 and Q2 opportunities while racking up empty calories with 11 Q3/Q4 victories.
