For the first time since 2014-15, Michigan doesn’t have any representation on the conference’s All-Big Ten teams.
The Wolverines have no representation on the first, second, or third teams, with no players receiving honorable mention or All-Freshman recognition. Only Michigan junior Will Tschetter earned a mention as Michigan’s representative for the conference’s Sportsmanship Award.
Purdue’s Zach Edey was named Big Ten Player of the Year and was joined by Boo Buie, Terrence Shannon Jr., Braden Smith, Jahmir Young and Marcus Domask.
Matt Painter and Fred Hoiberg split Coach of the Year honors. Iowa’s Owen Freeman and Indiana’s Mackenzie Mgbako split Freshman of the Year honors.

I’ll never understand why we give awards to coaches just becasuse they overachieve based on media expectations. Matt Painter owns this conference and Hoiberg is 12-8. If Juwan goes 12-8 next year should he be coach of the year? Like come on lol

I mostly agree and I voted for Painter, but at least considered Hoiberg. FWIW.
